Adaptive Technology Labs

There are two Adaptive Technology Labs at Teachers College where a variety of technologies and software programs supportive of the needs of persons with disabilities are available for use.

Both Labs are administered by the Office of Access and Services for Individuals with Disabilities (OASID) (see the website at http://www.tc.columbia.edu/oasid/index.html).  OASID's Adaptive Technology Specialist is Vincent Pedulla, and he can be reached at (212) 678-6678 or vp2003@columbia.edu.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to register with the Office; services, including access to the Lab, are available only to individuals who are registered and have submitted appropriate documentation.

One of these Labs is located in Room 101 in the library (first floor, Russell Hall) and provides access to over 25 assistive technology programs, installed on five workstations.  A full description of the available resources can be found on the library's website and also at http://www.tc.columbia.edu/oasid/resources/adaptiveTechnologyLab101.html.  Problems with hardware in this Lab should be brought to the attention of Library Support staff members, who work behind the Services Desk on the first floor of the library.  Problems with software in this Lab should be brought to the attention of OASID staff.

A second Adaptive Technology Lab is located in 301 Zankel Building.  A full description of the programs available there can be found at http://www.tc.columbia.edu/oasid/resources/adaptiveTechnologyLab301.html.
