Everett Cafe News: A Cure for What Ails You: Dr. Feelgood's Quick Fix Elixir

"What is Healthcare? Who should have it? Who should pay for it? Do some people deserve it more than others? Does it include mental health? What about addiction treatment? 'Healthcare' constitutes a lot of different parts of our lives; some we think about, while others only become apparent when they fall apart.

With the current push to change the American healthcare system, it is important for everyone to try to understand all its complexities, contradictions, and iniquities. As the factions/fractions of issues contained in this one imperative and complicated topic are being exposed, it is quickly becoming a question of right vs. privilege. Throw in some classism, racism, sexism, stigma, and a morally questionable history, and it makes for a great family dinner conversation.

Looking at each of these pieces, they are layered and overwhelming on their own. When added together, the kaleidoscope can be too much. In this new Cafe Collection we aim to explore the inexplicably polarizing American healthcare system. Our hope is to take 'healthcare' from a nebulous topic and enable people to understand how all the issues tie together."
