New Award Winning Children's Books, Part One
To Read and Read Again
A little magic, poetry, and prose in the air, but true to form....
The Gottesman Libraries acquires award winning and notable children's books on standing order every year, with the best and brightest of 2025 publications arriving from the beginning of May through June -- fully processed with call numbers and covers, ready to be shelved. So far we have received 121 titles covering fiction and non fiction for children and young adults, but they are books for all to enjoy. Come check them out on the second floor of the Library, including a selection of titles for display in the wooden rocket cases.

Named in honor of Randolph Caldecott, John Newberry, Coretta Scott King, Pura Belpré, Hans Christian Andersen, Ezra Jack Keats, Schneider Family, Mildred Batchelder, Theodore Seuss Geizel, Charlotte Zolotow, and many others, we salute the following writers and illustrators for their remarkable achievements in a flourishing, but highly competitive publishing field, as we continue to build upon the collecting strengths of the Gottesman Libraries.
