The human body is the most marvelous and versatile moving machine in the world. But do you know how it got this way, or the various things it is actually capable of doing? Neurodynamics is the study of how the body works in action: its anatomical design, operating systems, and the capacity for gaining greater awareness and control in action. Join us on Tuesdays, 12:30-1:30pm, for Neurodynamic Lunch Hour (back by popular demand), and learn how Neurodynamics can help your health! We will explore how an understanding of how we function can help us to use our human body more efficiently, and how to prevent everyday tensions and strains through education and awareness, rather than recourse to drugs and treatment. You will learn to lie down, stand up, sit as perfectly as a two-year old child, and even perhaps rid yourself of back pain. Dr. Theodore Dimon is Head of The Dimon Institute and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education and Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. An alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Ed.D., Ed.M), Dr. Dimon is also the author of several ground-breaking books in the field of Neurodynamics: A New Model of Man’s Conscious Development; Your Body, Your Voice; The Body in Motion; The Elements of Skill; Anatomy of the Moving Body; and The Undivided Self. The following sessions are open primarily to members and affiliated members of Teachers College, Columbia University. You may rsvp to one, a few, or all of the sessions.
