Victoria Marsick s a professor of Adult and Organizational Learning in the Department of Organization & Leadership, Teachers College, Columbia University. Since the publication of her first book, Learning in the Workplace, she has brought a rich understanding of the nature of individual, team and organizational learning to scholars and practitioners of adult and continuing education and Human Resource Development. Marsick is Academic Program Director of Adult Learning & Leadership programs. She has held served in the past as head of the innovative Adult Education Guided Independent Study (AEGIS) program at Teachers College, as the department chair, and as a co-director of research centers with a focus on adult and organizational learning.
Dominic Mentor is a corporate trainer who creates self-directed, digitally infused autonomous learning systems. He initiated and co-designed the USA’s first mLearning graduate class, and a social media fellowship for the NYC Mayor’s Office of Adult Education. He won the Optimas Gold Vision 2014 award from Workforce Magazine and the IELA 2015 blended eLearning award. He was keynote speaker at the 2016 International Conference on Globalization, Education, & Diversity, 2015 KDP Honors Society, the 2014 Educational Technology summit in South Africa and 2012 Technology in Education conference at William Patterson Univ. He conceived of, and served as Editor and contributing author of the Handbook of Research on Mobile Learning in Contemporary Classrooms, as well as chapters in TTablets in K-12 Education: Integrated Experiences and Implications, and Encyclopedia of Mobile Phone Behavior. Other publications include articles in Educause Journal and Center for African Studies’ Forum. Presentations include UNESCO (Paris, France 2014, 2018), Harvard’s 21st Century Academic Forum 2014 Conference (Boston, USA), the Urban Education International Conference (2014, 2016) (NY) and eLearning in the Workplace's 2014, 2017 conferences.
Renae Beaumont is a Clinical Psychologist and Research Associate at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is the developer of the Secret Agent Society Program, which is used in schools, hospitals and clinics in 11 countries worldwide to teach children social-emotional resilience skills. Renae is passionate about using technology to improve mental health outcomes for children and youth. Over the past 12 years,she has published numerous research papers and book chapters and spoken at international conferences on using strengths based approaches and technological innovations to up skill and empower children and the parents and professionals who support them.
Edward Bednar has worked in information technology for 28 years, much of that time in senior management and chief architect roles at Sabre, IBM, and LexisNexis. He is currently an associate director at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited where leads technology architecture and engineering for the firm’s global CTO organization. In this role, he is responsible for enterprise architecture, platform architecture, and systems engineering, including enterprise cloud hosting and related strategic infrastructure programs. Ed holds an M.A. from Columbia University and a B.B.A. from Baylor University. His ongoing academic and research interests are situated computing, social-computational mediation, and computational linguistics.
