Duo Access to Library Resources

Duo Access to Library Resources

Securing Logins

To better secure the Columbia community, logins by faculty, staff, and students to all Columbia web applications began requiring Duo MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) on March 1st, 2022. Remaining Columbia users, including alumni, will be required to use MFA for web applications in the coming months. To limit interruptions, Columbia University Information Technology will be increasing the duration of the ‘Remember Me’ option from 12 to 24 hours. More information can be found on CUIT's Duo Information page.

In support for Columbia's recent move to require Multi-Factor authentication (MFA) on CU’s portal, Teachers College is escalating its MFA process to require all faculty and staff to use DUO to authenticate at the initial login of the myTC portal. Currently, MFA is required to access Self Service Banner resources, and we are beginning to experience Duo for remote access to Gottesman Libraries' resources; this new process requires MFA at the initial portal login.

Authentication methods after logging in provide the following options: a push, call, or passcode. Once you have selected an option, you will be prompted for the next steps.

Additional information will be provided soon on this new requirement.
