Go Green with Gottesman

In recognition of TC Go Green Week (4/19-4/25), the Gotttesman Libraries is planning a variety of activities to encourage awareness of issues pertaining to planetary health and environmental education, among them:
  • a panel talk on environmental education, with Irene Boland, EPA Policy Analyst; Monisha Bajaj, Assistant Professor of Education; Adriana Abdenur, Assistant Professor of International & Comparative Education; and Thomas Chandler, Research Associate, National Center for Disaster Preparedness, Columbia University, Tuesday, 4/13, 7-8:30pm, 305 Russell
  • presentation of TC grant projects on sustainability in education by Jason Mellen, M.A. candidate, Thursday, 4/15, 3-4:40pm, 306 Russell;
  • newspaper exhibits, featuring stories on trash; transportation, water, Earth Day, food consumption, and energy, Monday, 4/19-Friday, 4/23, Everett Cafe;
  • book displays, Monday, 4/19-Friday, 4/23, Second Floor Salon;
  • film screening of Tapped, with Stephanie Soechtig, filmmaker, and Katrina Parks, outreach producer, Wednesday, 4/21, 5-7pm, Cowin Center;
  • demonstrations of worm composting by Amelia Epp, M.A. candidate, Thursday, 4/22, 10:30-11:15am and 1:15-2pm, Second Floor Salon;
  • promotion of library databases with information and resources on world habitats;
  • and launch of green (biodegradable) Gottesman Libraries book bags, available from the First Floor Services Desk.
