October Staff Picks: Celebrating Alumni
Reading Room, Second Floor
From the Latin term, alumni, we reference the original meaning, "one who is being nourished" -- and draw special attention and thanks to the former students of Teachers College, Columbia University who provide a great deal of food for thought. Our tribute to alumni, their authorship, and ongoing contributions shows the living legacy of Teachers College, and their courageous inquiry into significant topics and issues of our time.
With 90,000 alumni worldwide we can but present select publications -- scholarly, fiction, non fiction, children's books, and more -- that represent an extraordinary range of work. Some alumni represented in this collection have gone on to teach, even to serve in administrative capacity at Teachers College, Columbia University. Yet all, through their nourishment in writing, enhance our growth, well being, and opportunity to make an impact across the fields of education, psychology, and the health professions.
This book display supports TC (Re)Unites on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th, with celebrations happening all week starting on October 10th. Be sure to come and attend the TC Alumni Authors' Book Celebration on Friday, 10/13, 4-5:30pm where books will be live through talk!
