"Ruth Bader Ginsberg, a Columbia Law School alumni once said, "A constitution, as important as it is, will mean nothing unless the people are yearning for liberty and freedom." Today, in a world of political uncertainty and the present infringement on academic freedom and constitutional rights, this collection serves as protest to the withholding of individuals' pursuit of happiness and as a looking glass highlighting the realities of American life, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. We, the People of the United States of America, deserve life, liberty, and happiness. This collection hopes to provide readers with perspective on both the familiar and unfamiliar experiences of being and living in the United States. Highlighting the lives and voices of queer, black, Latine, and Asian American writers, this collection invites its readers to engage with the unfiltered and the visceral, to interact with the reality and the rawness of what life proves to be.
