NYS Grant

The Gottesman Libraries, a member of the Metropolitan New York Library Council, was pleased to receive a grant in the amount of $ 10,636 from New York State to participate in coordinated collection development for academic year 2023-2024. Amber Protzmann, Manager of Operations, and Jennifer Govan, Library Director and Senior Librarian, coordinated on the New York State application to enhance our collections in three select areas -- Bilingual and Bicultural Education, K-12 Education, and Science Education -- with ongoing commitment to meet the needs of our patrons and participate in interlibrary loan and resource sharing programs.

The METRO CCD Program complements the Myers Book Acquisitions' Program, allowing librarians to play a role in the selection of new and worthy research resources through application of vendor platforms and in coordination with faculty and staff.  The ordering and processing of library materials leverage additional tools, such as GOBI Library Solutions, a major provider of e-books, print books and workflow services to academic libraries.

Ralph Baylor, Head of Reference and Reader Services; Ava Kaplan, Research and Instruction Librarian; and Jennifer Govan identified and selected titles within the Gottesman Libraries' collecting scope. Tresha Antoine, Library Assistant, ordered and processed 99 books in the chosen subject areas.  Below is a listing of titles acquired with active links to catalog records and full text.
