Book acquisitions relating to art have been a long-standing component of work carried out by the Gottesman Libraries to meet our commitment to readers, as well as to the Myers Foundations. The Florence H. and Eugene E. Myers Charitable Unitrust, named in part for his wife, and The Eugene E. Myers Charitable Trust, known as The Myers Foundations, since the late 1990s have been dedicated to the growth of library art collections and academic programs for the development of art. With funds available to institutions where Colonel Eugene E. Myers studied or had personal ties -- The University of North Dakota, The University of Virginia,  Northwestern University, and Teachers College, Columbia University -- we have been able to develop the collection in support of art and art education, as well as pursue library art conservation, exhibitions, and commissioned artwork.

With thanks to the Myers Foundations for their continuing and generous support of art and art-related initiatives, we are pleased to share details on recent e-book purchases for the collection.

As with visiting art exhibitions, we encourage readers to visit the collections and explore the interesting, relevant, and at times topical material acquired. Books are selected from online tools that help us manage our digital collections, build upon printed holdings, and give a nod to the art of the bookplate.
