New: LibGuides
A Robust Collection
Over the past few months the research librarians at Gottesman Libraries compiled a unique set of guides to strengthen teaching and research at Teachers College, Columbia University. They represent a milestone in our delivery of instructional services, with clear templates and highly relevant research resources created in consultation with our users, while highlighting important strategies and tools for greater scholarship. Readily accessible under "Top Resources", Research Guides (LibGuides) are enabled through Springshare for consistency in design and stable presentation of electronic and other holdings.
Currently there are 49 Subject Guides corresponding to academic programs of the College, and listed by Academic Department; and 4 General Purpose ones covering material presented in high-demand workshops: Course Resource Lists; Reference Management; Research Basics; and The Literature Review. The landing page also offers access to the A-Z Database List, a full list of databases to which the Library subscribes, including trial access. The LibGuides collection is growing, with workshops being added that support the "Student Research Journey" and "New Research Services for Faculty" series. Complimentary is the Library Blog for relevant pieces, including Excellence in Research: Building Informed Approaches to Research Literacy; Academic Integrity; and Open Education Resources.
